Shabbat Gathering This Week: 20 Sh'vat 5782

Chevra, maybe you're beginning to notice the days are getting longer. There is more light. The temperature may still be Arctic, but we know the sap is rising and Spring is on the way. Just as Hashem has promised us, one season follows another. And our Shabbat follows a long week of work.

Tonight, we will welcome the divine Shekhinah into our homes and our hearts. We will gather together in our virtual space, race our voices in songs of praise, and say our prayers. We will make a space to send blessings to those we love who are ill and remember those we've lost. We will light candles, bless the wine and say a prayer over our challah.

I don't think it's an accident that our faces will be illuminated by our screens and our screens are a collection of each other's faces. We illuminate each other. Just by being there, each of us will bless the other.

I hope to see you tonight. Shabbat Shalom.

Fri, Jan 21
