There’s good news from the world of klezmer: The Klezmatics have released a new album, We Were Made for These Times. Perhaps the world’s foremost active klezmer band, The Klezmatics have been together for about 40 years now, constantly pushing out the barriers for what klezmer means and what it does.

By definition, klezmer is a put-together music genre, combining several Eastern European traditions. In its new album, South American, gospel, and many more threads are woven together into a rich tapestry of color and texture. Never afraid of addressing important issues of the day, The Klezmatics tackle labor rights, immigrant rights and they work to topple all types of tyranny both at home and abroad.

So, do yourself a favor and head on over to your favorite streaming service and give We Were Made for These Times a listen. Better yet, go on over to Bandcamp and buy the new album and know that Bandcamp is the best way to make sure the band gets everything they deserve.
