Here we go.
Those of you who are able to make our Shabbat Gathering know that sometimes I draw inspiration for our reflection from RitualWell, a site created and hosted by Reconstructing Judaism that points us to new liturgy and thoughts about our liturgy. This week, I'm sharing something I found on that site for Sukkot.
Blessing for Sukkot
by David Zaslow
Ribbono shel olam,
Through the agency of the life force
and intelligence that You have placed within
the etrog, lulav, hadas, and aravah this season,
May our hearts be filled with compassion and joy.
May our spines be strong and upright.
May our eyes look for the good in each other.
May our mouths speak with kindness and from wisdom.
May we taste and smell the beauty around us.
May what we have learned be applied to what we do,
and may what we do inspire to us to learn even more.
May our good deeds and studies be aligned
in a unity as You model for us in Your holy Name.
And may it be for all of us a blessing.
See you tonight!
Gut Shabbes!
All my love,
brian.
